Over 2,000 1 Week Old Turkeys Perish in Thanksgiving Day Fire

A fire on Thanksgiving Day destroyed a Daviess County Turkey Barn.  Six departments were called to the barn on Daviess County Road 100-West at 3:30pm.  Plainville Fire Chief Mike Heshelman told the Washington Times Herald when he got there fire was coming from the west side of the barn and when the department arrived it had spread to the entire barn.    2600 turkeys, one week old, were killed.  Heshelman told the paper the cause was an electrical problem in a fan.   The barn was a total loss.
