Mary Jane Ryan, 97, of Montgomery, passed away at 7:20 p.m. Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Ketcham Memorial Center.
She was born February 11, 1920 in Daviess County, Indiana to the late Leo and Letha (Queen) Bradley.
Mary Jane was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. She enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and quilting. She loved her family and spending time with them.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Ryan; daughter, Martha Marie Ryan; parents, Leo and Letha (Queen) Bradley; siblings, John and Margaret Bradley, Louise and Shorty Ward, Agnes and Nelson Hauser, Inez Bradley, and Ernie Bradley; 3 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild; son-in-law, Jerry Detamore; brothers-in-law, Guy Padgett and Gene James.
Mary Jane is survived by her children, Rose Ann (Mike) Morris of Montgomery, Mary Elizabeth ( Larry) Bedwell of Washington, Mike (Linda) Ryan of Jasper, Georgia, Paula Detamore of Brazil, Indiana, Robert (Peggy) Ryan of Cannelburg, Ed (Mary Dee) Ryan of Plainville, Peter (Shelley) Ryan of Montgomery, Thomas Ryan of Washington and Donald (Virginia) Ryan of Washington; 28 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren; sisters, Stasia Padgett, Irene Zins, Ruth James and Clara Bradley; sister-in-law, Louise “Dude” Bradley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. James E. Koressel at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Montgomery. Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Montgomery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The ALS Association or the American Cancer Society.
