Locals Continue to Address Health Needs

Daviess Community Hospital and the Community Needs Assessment Steering Committee and Task Forces are hard at work finalizing strategies to reduce health needs in the community.

Last year an assessment identified five needs to be addressed. They were: substance abuse, affordable and accessible care, available doctors, obesity and mental health.

Hospital Spokesperson Angie Steiner says since identifying needs and creating the committee and task forces, several things have been accomplished including  sponsoring the inaugural Hoosier Bicycle Classic, partnering with the Daviess County Mental Health Association, working with Purdue Extension to host an Active Living Workshop.

The Steering Committee is made up hospital administrators and staff and community leaders.
