Bermetta Jean Lang, 100, of Vincennes, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, November 15, 2017.

She was born in Vincennes, Indiana on December 23, 1916 to Paul and Florence Kahl. She married Franklin F. Lang on October 11, 1941 and preceded her in death on March 11, 1985 while they lived in Naperville, Illinois.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1936. She worked at Gimbel-Bond Company and George Field in the US Civil Service Department. They moved to Cleveland, Ohio and Chicago with her husband’s work -Prudential Insurance.

Bermetta belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution(DAR) since 1966 and served as Regent in the Naperville, Illinois chapter and later transferred to the Francis Vigo Chapter when she returned to live in Vincennes.

Bermetta is survived by her daughter, Susan K. Lang of Cincinnati, and three grandchildren, Suzanne Alaniz, Michael Lang Bochnovich, and Ashley Canterbury; her great grandchildren, Lillian Bochnovich and Jason Riley Canterbury; her grandsons in law, Jason Alaniz and Jason Canterbury; and granddaughter in law- Megan Bochnovich. She was loved by many nieces and nephews. Lisa, Kelly, and Alyce Perry were by her side throughout the years.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 18th at 11:00 am at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service. Following the service, the family will have private burial services at Memorial Park Cemetery.
