Greene Co. Busy Yesterday with Theft and Crash Investigations

-Early Monday morning deputies in Greene County arrested two Indianapolis men for theft, resisting arrest, intimidation with a firearm and pointing a firearm.  The incident occurred around 4:50 am when deputy Anthony Pope was investigating a suspicious vehicle on State road 57 near county road 400 South in Greene County when two men fled on foot from the car.  Both were later located by Greene County deputies and identified as 30 year old Vernon L. Richardson and 28 year old Kenneth C. Mowery.   The car was seized and stolen property from Vanderburgh County was located in the cargo compartment.  Greene County was assisted in the investigation by the Indiana State Police. 

-A crash in Greene County Monday involving a school bus resulted in a minor injury to a student and the arrest of a motorist.  Greene County authorities say that at 3:30-pm 40-year-old Christopher Kelley of Sollsberyy was driving a Dodge Dakota south on North Legion Road.  He came over a hilltop and swerved left, crossed the center line and sideswiped an Eastern Greene School Bus headed north.  There was minor damage to the bus, driven by 53-year-old Angela Snapp of Bloomington who pulled off the side of the road. Kelley continued on and hit a culvert in a ditch on the north side of the road.  One student on the bus complained of pain to the neck and was taken by their parents to a hospital.  Kelley was found to be driving while suspended and had no insurance.  He was arrested on those charges.
