Indiana Conservation Officers are reporting that Robert Troy McCutcheon (48) of Evansville was arrested this past weekend for boating while intoxicated and public indecency on West Boggs Creek Reservoir.  The passenger in the boat, Melissa R. Crane (45) of Bedford was also arrested for public intoxication and public indecency.

Upon stopping the boat for expired registration, Conservation Officers observed the occupants of the boat in the state of nudity.  An investigation determined McCutcheon showed signs of impairment.

Initial blood draw results showed McCutcheon to have a .306 BAC. He was arrested without incident and booked into the Daviess County Security Center.  The Martin County Sheriff’s Office also assisted with the investigation.

The incident took place on Sunday, September 24th 2017 at approximately 6:30pm.

Indiana Conservation Officers remind the boating public that drunk driving laws also apply to watercraft operation.

Conviction for driving a boat while intoxicated can result in fines and costs, loss of driver’s license, and loss of boating privileges.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
