Former local resident, Tim Thombleson was promoted to Brigadier General in the Indiana National Guard this past week.  Thombleson grew up in Washington attending Lena Dunn Elementary and is a Washington High School grad.    He joined the Guard when he started college at ISU to help pay his college expenses.  With the promotion, Thombleson was named assistant adjutant general and will work alongside Maj. Gen. Courtney P. Carr, who leads approximately 14,000 service members across the Hoosier State.  Thombleson says he’s humbled and honored to continue his service in one of the top National Guard states in the nation.

Major General Carr called Thombleson an outstanding leader of soldiers bringing a wealth of knowledge to his new rank.

          Thombleson now resides in Martinsville.
