Ida Mae Swartzentruber

Ida Mae Swartzentruber, 86, of Montgomery passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 5:05 A.M in Evansville, Indiana.

She was born in Daviess County on March 22, 1931 to the late Peter R. and Mary (Knepp) Wagler. Ida Mae married Daniel Swartzentruber on July 2, 1949, and they had 6 sons, and 3 daughters. She was a charter member of Providence Mennonite Church in Montgomery and also attended Bahia Vista Mennonite Church in Sarasota, Florida. Ida Mae was a devoted Christian and mother, faithful wife and a friend to all that knew her.

She is survived by her children; Elvin Dale (Debbie), Gary Wayne, Sharon Ruth (Terry) Lengacher, Regina Joy (Greg) Chaney, all of Montgomery, Kenneth Eugene (Clara Mae) of Elnora, Daniel Ray (Peg) of Goshen, Edward Lee (Coleen) of Washington, Shirley Ann (Dale) Gerkin of Loogootee, and Mark Alan (Janet) of Sarasota, Florida. 25 Grandchildren, 38 Great- Grandchildren, 4 Great- Great Grandchildren, and her siblings Rosa (Herman) Graber, Annie (John) Yoder, Leah (Harvey) Graber, Henry (Sarah Catherine) Wagler, Leroy (Clara) Wagler, Peter R. Jr. (Barbara) Wagler, Wilbur (Virginia) Wagler, Mary Ruth (Alva L.) Knepp, and Delilah Jean (Jacob) Graber.

Ida Mae is preceded in death by her husband Daniel Swartzentruber, her parents, and her brothers Homer and Raymond Wagler.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Providence Mennonite Church with Kevin Swartzentruber officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 18, 2017 at Providence Mennonite Church in Montgomery from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M and on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M until time of service.
