Betty L. Salter, 91, passed away at 6:20 pm on September 4, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Betty was born on April 9, 1926 in Knox County the daughter of Louis and Lidda L. (Welton) Spillman. Betty married Gordon Salter on march 3, 1945 and he preceded her in death on February 6, 2008.
Betty was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed Cincinnati Reds baseball and reading.
Survivors include her daughter, Leza Westfall of Vincennes; grandchildren, Robin Stomberg of Clay City, IL, Anne Westfall of Vincennes; great granddaughter, Lola Westfall of Vincennes; and several nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her Husband Gordon Salter, daughter, Pamela Hienz, son, Gordon Bradly Salter, grandson, Mark Andrew Westfall, and brother, William Spillman.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. A private interment will be held at a later date. On line condolences may be sent to Betty’s family and friends at www.goodwinfamilyfh.com.
