Otwell Miller Academy officially signs it’s charter

         Otwell Miller Academy is in operation.  The elementary school has a new building on State Road 257 in Otwell. The charter school was started nearly 2 years ago by a group call the Friends of Otwell Schools after the Pike County School Corporation closed Otwell Elementary.

        After a long tedious process, the school began operating this year.  Those who attended last night’s signing were given tours of the new facility which President of the Friends of Otwell Elementary,  Bob Rhodes says the building is 90% complete on the interior…

        Rhodes says the most of the funding for the school comes from the state and some from their sponsor Grace College and Seminary from Winona Lake, Indiana.  He says grant applications are being written as well. Other sources he says are a daycare and pre-school program paid for by its users.  He added they do depend on funding from the community as well…
