The annual Labor Day Association’s rotating Labor Day Celebrations lands in Princeton this year.

That’s the first town it was ever held in back in 1886. To put it in perspective, that  was 8 years before Labor Day was made an official holiday and only 10 years after the Battle of Little Big Horn otherwise known as Custer’s Last Stand.

This year at the Gibson County Fairgrounds expect continued fun and food including free carnival rides.  There’s a demo derby, live music, talent shows, beauty contests and a Labor Day Parade.   Find out more  at the Labor Day Association website.

In Bicknell it’s the annual Heritage Festival.  It started earlier this week.  Activities are happening throughout Bicknell. Saturday morning 7 to 11 there’s the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast at the Primary School, there are community yard sales throughout town,  The annual Bicknell High School Alumni Association is 6 to 8 Saturday night at the Primary School.  There’s a Community Worship Service at 10-am on Sunday and a Community Pick-nic to follow at the Fire Station.  The parade in Bicknell is at noon Monday.
