Indiana State Police say they will have a heightened presence in Terre Haute this weekend.

It’s time again for Terre Haute’s annual Diesel Extravaganza, which brings around 15,000 people to the Wabash Valley every year. The crowds cause some concerns for traffic in the area. That’s why officers say they’re stepping up security all weekend.

Indiana State Police will have 50 extra officers patrolling the area. Terre Haute police say they’ll bring eight extra officers.

With so many people coming for the event, local officials say it brings an economic impact of around $3 million.
