Indianapolis being sued over homeless order

lawsuit-1-2

(NETWORK IN)  The City of Indianapolis is being accused of violating the constitutional rights of the homeless. The ACLU of Indiana has filed a class action lawsuit in response to the City’s August 4th order that the homeless remove themselves and their belongings from downtown underpasses. That order and the emergency declaration behind it are both being called “unconstitutionally vague.” Executive Director Jane Henegar also says the city is violating the Equal Protection Clause by enforcing the order only on the homeless.
