Marvie Lee Flint, 82, passed away July 11, 2017, at Amber Manor in Petersburg. He was born October 12, 1934, in Algiers, Indiana, to Emit and Myrtle (Stockenger) Flint.
Marvie was a retired farmer and bus driver for over 25 years. He was also a deacon at the First Baptist Church in Petersburg; a member of the Oddfellows; member of the Advisory Board to the Washington Township Trustees; and a member of the Petersburg Fire Department Territory Board.
Marvie is preceded in death by his wife, Velva (Evans) Flint; parents Emit and Myrtle Flint; sisters Odyne McCullough, Glennis Kreig, and Evelyn Lucas; brothers Donald Flint and Lowell Flint.
Marvie is survived by a son, Mark (Susan) Flint of Petersburg; a grandson, Josh (Kiersten) Flint; a granddaughter, Jamie Hardin; and great grandchildren Brayden Flint, and Alli and Max Hardin.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 14, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. EST at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. EST on Saturday, July 15. Burial will immediately follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. Charles Baxter, Paul Newton and Roger Willis will be officiating the services. Harris Funeral Home has been entrusted with care.
