(DLC MEDIA) The city of Loogootee is considering selling water to Daviess County Rural Water. The move could mean $20,000 in revenue a month to the Martin County city.

The Washington Times Herald reports that the Water Company and Loogootee continue to work toward an agreement.   A proposal still has to be approved by the Daviess County Rural Water Board.  If it goes through, the water company would finance all the construction costs to link its system with Loogootee’s.

The newspaper reports the contract calls for Loogootee to sell a maximum of 250,000 gallons per day to DCRW from 2018 to 2023. The city would charge $2.65 per 1,000 gallons of water. The contract calls for the maximum amount of water to be sold to increase at set intervals until it reaches 400,000 gallons per day in 2038.
