The Daviess County Security Center has gotten a good report from state inspectors.

In a Washington Times Herald story by Mike Grant, Chief Deputy Gary Allison says there’s never been a negative report since the current jail opened 13 years ago.

220 items were looked at and one of the only improvements recommended was an increase in jail custody staff. State inspectors estimated an additional 6.5 staff members were needed. There are currently 35 employees.

Allison said issues like the camera security system needing updating and some repairs due to age are being addressed.  They were not mentioned in the inspection but are part of the overall maintenance of the security center.
