William W. Kessler Sr.

William W. Kessler Sr., 89, of Washington, went to his Heavenly Home on June 5, 2017 while at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born on September 19, 1927 in Louisville, KY to Paul Wenning and Edith Mae (Applegate) Kessler. He was a 1945 graduate from Bosse Technical High School of Evansville. On September 24, 1948, William married the love of his life, the late, Mary Maxine (Barrett) Kessler. He was a WWII Veteran. He worked as an Airplane mechanic at the Daviess County Airport and Bill’s Areo Service. He was an Elder at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Vincennes, where he was very active. He was also member of the Washington Masonic Lodge. William was a pilot and his hobby was his work. He greatly enjoyed everything that had to do with aircraft, from talking about aircrafts, working on them, and to flying them.

William is survived by his children William W. Kessler Jr. (Dianna L.) and Linda Susan Carrico (James); eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and brother Tom Kessler. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Maxine Kessler; parents; brother Paul Charles Kessler; and great grandson William Paul Rego.

The funeral service for William will be held on June 9, 2017 at 1pm at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut Street, Washington, IN 47501. Pastor Noble Boger will be officiating. Friends may call prior to the service at the funeral home from 11am-1pm. Interment will follow the service at Sugarland Memory Gardens. Online condolences may be made at www.gillsince1872.com.
