Vernon “Tim” Kemp

Vernon “Tim” Kemp, 80, of Montgomery, passed away at 3:07 p.m. Friday, June 2nd, 2017 at Prairie Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born May 27, 1937 in Montgomery, Indiana to the late Neal and Alice (Stoll) Kemp.

Tim farmed with his Dad for many years before he became an Owner/Operator and hauled coal for 15 years. He then was employed by Graber Post and was a truck driver for 18 years.

He enjoyed the outdoors and spending winters in Pine Craft, Florida. He was the owner of Birky Square in Pine Craft. He was a member of Providence Mennonite Church.

 Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Neal and Alice (Stoll) Kemp; siblings, Agnes Kemp, Ora Kemp and Alva (Rosanna) Kemp; step-daughter, Vanessa Crawley; brothers-in-law, Ronald Pierce, Robert Pierce and Melvin Pierce; sisters-in-law, Nancy Bloomfield and Darlene Bush.

 He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Mary (Millard) Kemp of Montgomery; step-children, Wendy Holman of Montgomery, Sheri Rosselli of Arizona and Brian (Maricris) Millard of Boonville; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 17 nieces and nephews; siblings, Homer (Liz) Kemp of Loogootee, Dorothy (Willard) Graber of Cannelburg, June (Mel) Riegsecker of Shipshewana, Mary (Ervin) Wagler of Plainville, Melvin (Jean) Kemp of Montgomery and Ann Ennis of Washington; sisters-in-law, Jane Cook of Monmouth, IL, Pat Kenny of Galva, IL and Bert Bowers of Kalama, WA; special friend, Eli S. Miller Jr.

 Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Providence Mennonite Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 5, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Simon J. Graber Complex and Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
