A Cannelburg man was jailed for battery, strangulation, burglary, criminal trespass and residential entry in Martin County.
Indiana State Police report that 51-year-old Kenneth A. Bettag allegedly walked in the front door of a North Oak Street Home in Loogootee intending to speak to an ex-girlfriend. Police say he entered irate and refused to leave and walked up to the woman’s current boyfriend, grabbed him by the throat, pulled him off of a couch and hit him. Bettag ran when heard police had been called. Police were notified of the incident at 12:40-pm and they received a vehicle description. They located it at the Loogootee Chuckle’s and Bettag was arrested there and taken to the Martin County Jail.
