City increasing “skeeter” patrols

As we’ve all heard in recent days, the insect numbers are on the rise in this latter half of spring, and it’s not going to get much better as we approach the summer months.  Experts say the mosquito population is higher this year due to the mild winter of 2016 and 17.

The city of Washington will be doubling its efforts to eradicate the pests in the city.  Street Commissioner Ernie Evans will be out 3 to 6-am tomorrow (Fri) as usual.  Then starting next week, spraying will take place two days a week.  The city will be out Tuesday and Friday mornings from 3 to 6 am on both days.
