Richard “Richie” Scott Gaither, age 46, of Washington, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017, at his residence.
He was born on June 21, 1970 in Washington to Gary and Susan (Petty) Gaither. He was a foreman for the City of Washington Parks department. He was an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan and enjoyed playing corn hole and sitting around his fire visiting with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Kelly (Mangin) Gaither of Washington, Indiana, whom he married December 27, 2014; daughter, Alisa (Michael) Chambers of Indianapolis; Step daughter, Crystal (Jacob) Kern of Jasper; parents Gary (Ingrid) Gaither of Kokomo, and Susan (Mack) Petty of Florida; brother, Matthew (Sonia) Gaither of Washington; Sister, Amy (Chad) Graber of Montgomery; Step brothers, Damon Ashburn of Fishers, Aaron Ashburn of Kokomo and Colin Ashburn of Texas; grandmother, Carol Risch of Washington; Mother and Father-in-law, Kenny and Dosia Mangin of Mongtomery and three nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Devon Gaither; Grandfather, Richard Risch and grandparents, Ray and Edith Gaither. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Yvonne Evans officiating. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery.
