          Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb says Jim McCormick had immeasurable contributions to Indiana and the nation

          McCormick, a prominent community and business leader from Vincennes died Monday.  He had retired in 2000 from McCormick Incorporated and Bestway Express.  He served on the VU Board of Trustees for almost 2 decades.  He was involved in numerous community organizations and endeavors.

       Funeral arrangements are pending.

      In his statement on McCormick’s passing, the governor went on to say that Jim was his friend, neighbor and mentor to him and many others in business, government, higher education and philanthropy.

          VU says the university family is deeply saddened by the loss.  The college’s statement says when McCormick served six years as chair of the VU Board of Trustees, it was a time of remarkable progress thanks in part to his visionary leadership and general philanthropy. He helped create the Mac McCormick Scholarship and the Red Skelton Museum of American Comedy located on the VU Campus.
