Indiana State Senator Mark Messmer of Jasper has announced he’ll seek re-election in 2018. Messmer, a Republican, serves in District 48 which is composed of parts of Pike, Knox, Dubois, Gibson, Spencer and Warrick Counties. He has served in the seat for 4 years having served as a State Representative in District 63. He currently is Chair of the Committee on Commerce & Technology, and is also a member of the Senate Committees on Public Policy, Utilities, Agriculture and Natural Resources. Messmer is co-owner of Messmer Mechanical in Jasper. Mark previously worked for Dow Chemical and as a project engineer for John Brown Engineering in Mt. Vernon.
