Accident investigations continue in Gibson, Vigo and Monroe Counties

–The Gibson County Sheriff’s Department and State Police continue to investigate an 8 car crash that happened Friday night on US 41 near Toyota.  State Police said a semi truck rear-ended a vehicle.  One person was seriously hurt.   Spokesman, Sergeant Todd Ringle said on social media that everyone was wearing seatbelts and seatbelts save lives.  He says the accident which closed the road for several hours could’ve been much worse.

-(AP)  Authorities say four people are dead after a tractor-trailer slammed into a car and hit a flatbed truck hauling steel bars in western Indiana. State Police Sgt. Joe Watts tells the Tribune-Star the car erupted into flames after it was hit Saturday evening along Interstate 70 west of Terre Haute. Three people in the car were killed. The tractor-trailer then hit the Maverick flatbed truck, killing the driver of the tractor-trailer. Watts says the crash occurred amid slowing traffic.

-(NETWORK INDIANA)  An 11 year old girl died after a crash near Bloomington Saturday evening. It happened just after 7 p.m. near on State Road 37 near North Bottom Road.  Indiana State Police say bicyclist  tried to cross State Road 37 when the bike fell over in the left lane.  A southbound Chevy passenger car driven by 21-year-old Alexis P. Davis of Greenwood swerved quickly to avoid the cyclist but lost control and went into the northbound lane and was hit by a Chevy truck.  An 11 year old girls was killed in the crash and she was identified as Kaitylyn Wells of Martinsville
