Following approval by the County Commissioners at their last meeting, the Daviess County Council Wednesday agreed to appropriate funds from the E-911 account to bring the Washington Police Department’s communication system into compatibility with the Sheriff’s Department.  Washington’s Asst. Police Chief Trent McWilliams told the Council that making the WPD’s system compatible the server at the Sheriff’s Department would improve law enforcement and was something that needed to be done if the City of Washington and Daviess County moved to a combined dispatch center.   The Council also approved the use of E-911 funds to purchase radios with greater transmission range for the trucks and chief of the Southeast Fire District.
