The Pike Central Charger Basketball team has again created excitement and brought the community together as they continue in the 2017 Boys Basketball Tourney.  Last Saturday they won their second sectional championship in a row.  No boys basketball team has done that since 1951.

To support the team and get folks fired up about the big game Saturday morning, there’s a Charger Regional Rally taking place Friday 4 to 6 at the PC-1 Stop Convenience store located on State Road 61 just across from Pike Central Schools.

According to Facebook posts from event organizers, Evansville TV stations will be there as Pike Central coaches and players will visit with fans, sign autographs and take pictures.  There’ll be a live DJ.   Pike County native, Jason Sturgeon will make an appearance to sing. There’ll be “Charger Strong” t-shirts for sale with proceeds going to various booster clubs.

Free brats, burgers and fries, you’ll have to purchase your drink.

All that again goes on at PC-1 across from Pike Central Friday 4 to 6.

The Chargers play Greensburg in game one of the Regional Saturday morning.  Hear the tournament live on WAMW with coverage starting at 9:35-am.
