A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a pickup in Ireland yesterday afternoon.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says the call came in at 2:52pm. They say the pedestrian was found dead at the scene on State Road 56.
A motorist in a Chevy Silverado was westbound and told authorities they saw the pedestrian but couldn’t stop in time. The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says their investigation has determined it was a tragic accident with no one at fault.
The deceased has not yet been identified pending family notification.
