Bernard ‘Bernie’ Miller age 89, of Washington, went to be with the Lord at 11:20PM on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Daviess Community Hospital.

 

 

He was born on August 10, 1927 in Daviess County to Robert A. and Ruth (Williams) Miller. He was retired from Hoover Steel Ball in 1992 and had served in the Indiana National Guard for 11 years. He was a member of the Washington Moose Lodge, the Eagles, and Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. He worked hard all of his life to provide and care for his wife and six children. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. He was an avid bowler and continued the passion till he turned 87. He loved visiting with his friends and enjoyed dancing with his wife at the Moose Lodge. He is survived by one daughter and son in-law, Judy and Stacey Ingle of Washington; five sons, and daughters in-law, Curt and Denise Miller of Centennial, Colorado, Jim and Jan Miller of Indianapolis, Steve and Amanda Miller of Washington, Greg and Jeannette Miller of Sullivan, and Mike Miller of Indianapolis; 17 grandchildren, Amber (Tim) Hurtgen, Jeremy Miller, Jodi (Josh) Strawn, Jason (Mindy) Grow, Steve Grow, Nathan (Sarah) Cart, Lindsay (Jeffrey) Turner, Andrew Cart, Mitchell Watkins, Samantha (Justin) Killough, Blaine Miller, Jessica Singer, Jamie (Jason) Mason, Jared (Patricia) Singer, Jerrica (Jordan) Beard Mitchell, Morgan Miller, and Haley Miller; 29 great grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, M. Kathleen Miller on February 23, 2010, whom he had married on August 20, 1952. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Rowina Charles. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 PM on Wednesday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Paul Ferguson as celebrant. Burial will follow in Sugarland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday at Ed Lee Mortuary.
