Indiana State Police say troopers in the right place at the right time to intercept a wrong way driver on I69 in Daviess County.

At 4:50 yesterday afternoon, a dispatch went out about a wrong way driver on the interstate near the Washington exit.  Three state troopers were in the area conducting a saturation patrol and were about a mile north of the suspect vehicle.  After seeing the 2004 Oldsmobile going north in the southbound lanes, one of the troopers blocked the south lane causing the car to stop.

After speaking with the female driver, 45-year-old Tracey Gross of Washington, the officers determined she was allegedly extremely impaired.  The impairment was enough to call emergency medical teams to the scene.  She was taken to Daviess Community Hospital and found to be under the influence of benzodiazepines. She was charged with operating while intoxicated with a prior conviction, public intoxication and reckless driving.
