State police arrested a Bedford teen on numerous drug charges after a traffic stop outside Loogootee Saturday morning.
The trooper saw the Toyota Avalon east on US 50 near Church Street. The vehicle had its passenger wheels almost touching the grass as it traveled down the road. The trooper followed and witnessed additional driving behaviors including crossing the center line. After a stop, the trooper smelled alcohol coming from the vehicle driven by 18 year old Garret Diehl of Bedford. It was learned that Diehl and a 16 year old passenger had left a party in Bloomington and going home to Bedford. It was determined Diehl had smoke pot and taken Xanax hours before and a vehicle search turned up a metal grinder with what was believed to be marijuana inside. The 16 year was taken to a parent, Diehl was arrested for operating while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and other charges. He was taken to the Martin County Jail.
