Washington School Board keeps same officers for 2017

The Washington Community School Board’s recently elected board members were sworn in yesterday.  Michael Taylor, Peg Stephens and Randy Bouchie were all re-elected in November’s election.

As the board re-organized for the year, the Washington Times Herald reports that the officers will stay the same. Steve Frette is board President, Pam Bartlett Vice President and Peg Stephens is the secretary.  Board meeting will remain on the third Thursday of the month at 7-pm.

Also at the meeting the Board of Finance put $57,000 in the general fund to for expenses. The money was interest accrued in the past year.  The board also accepted a bid from First Financial for a five million dollar operating loan with a 1.5% interest rate. The money will be used for the school’s needs until the next tax draw.
