Rose Ann Butler-Arney, age 81, of Washington, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 6:28 pm at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.

 


She was born on November 14, 1935 in Cannelburg to Joseph and Mary L. (Melton) Lannan. She had been a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and was a devout Catholic her entire life. She looked at volunteering as a service to God often volunteering at St. Vincent DePaul. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Diana (Bob) Calvert, Jeffrey (Pam) Butler, Sharon Emmons, Mary (Ron) Combs; one sister, Wilma Sinnott; six brothers, Bill Lannan, John Lannan, Clifford Lannan, Robert Lannan, Jim Lannan and Paul Lannan; eight grandchildren, Scott (Christine) Butler, Dana (Eric) Myers, Steven Emmons, Derek (Aimee) Emmons, Sierra (Jordan) Ellison, Ian Butler, Jake Combs and Frances Butler; six greatgrandchildren, Brett Butler, Brayden Butler, Braxton Butler, Tyler Myers, Alyssa Myers and Brantley Myers.
She is preceded in death by her husband Francis Butler on April 16, 1998 whom she married on June 6, 1953; son, Douglas Butler and infant daughter, Susan Butler.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Fr. Paul Ferguson as celebrant. Burial will follow at St John Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 PM Monday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.
