A Williams Brothers Pharmacy employee reported a company Jeep stolen at 3-am Wednesday. The jeep had been behind the Holiday Inn Express in Washington. A few minutes after the report, Washington Police found the Jeep on US 50 and a chase ensued reaching over 100 miles an hour down 257 into Pike County. the Jeep turned onto State Road 56 and into a field and the chase continued along the White River and onto Portersville Road and back around to 257 in the northbound lanes. The pursuit continued onto US 50, old 50 near Montgomery and onto Daviess County Road 900-east. When the Jeep got into Cannelburg it lost control and crashed landing on it’s side close to the All Saint’s Church. The driver was identified as 39-year-old Eric Richardson of Bloomington. He was taken to Daviess Community Hospital. He was found to not be injured. He was charged with auto theft, criminal respass, being habitual traffic offender, resisting law enforcement reckless driving and causing property damage. Bond was set at $10,000.
