The Washington Street Department will start milling some streets this week.
Street Commissioner Ernie Evans says tomorrow, Wednesday, Southside Avenue from Meridian Street east to Southeast 1st will be milled. Also work will take place on Northeast 3rd and Maple Street and on Axtel Avenue from Mill Street East to Southeast 12th Street. The Street Department advises motorists to avoid those streets it all possible.
Milling will continue on Thursday on Memorial Avenue from N.E. 21st Street East to Eastside Park Road.
More work will be done on Friday in a a small area of Waller Drive…on 200 East from Commercial Park Drive North to the County line.
200 East will be closed north of the railroad tracks. That’s due to all the repair work which must be done before paving. It will be closed from Friday through Tuesday next week. If you have any questions call the Street Department 812-254-4564.
