Pike County School Corp. Investigating Weapon Brought to School

An official statement was made by Suzanne Blake, Superintendent of the Pike County School Corporation.

Suzanne Blake, Superintendent of the Pike County School Corporation issued an official press release this morning stating that on Wednesday afternoon, September 28th, it was reported to a school administrator that a student may have a weapon. The administrator promptly addressed the situation and contacted the Pike County School Resource Officer. The sheriff’s department was also notified. The student, who attends Pike Central High School, was taken into custody at that time. He is not currently attending school. The situation is being investigated by the Pike County Sheriff’s office. The school is following the school safety procedure according to the safety plan put in place.
