An affidavit says a northern Indiana woman told police she smothered her two young children after abducting them and taking them to a park and a restaurant.

Amber Pasztor of Fort Wayne faces two preliminary murder counts in the Monday deaths of 7-year-old Liliana Hernandez and 6-year-old Rene Pasztor.
The affidavit filed Wednesday says the 29-year-old woman told officers she kicked in the door of her father’s home in Fort Wayne where the children lived and then drove them to Elkhart, about 70 miles to the northwest. It says that at some point she covered both of their faces and noses until they both died.
A magistrate ruled the affidavit establishes probable cause for two counts of murder. A prosecutor has said he expects to file charges this week.
