GOP Caucus elects a new city councilman

David Dahl is the new member on the Washington City Council.

Dahl was chosen Saturday morning at a closed Republican Party caucus to fill out the term of Jason Petty who resigned with plans to move from the area.

Dahl will serve as an At Large Council member.

The three other candidates seeking the position were Diana Snyder, Grant Swartzentruber, and Tom Gress.

Republican Party Chair Jan Schuler-Hicks says she knows Dahl is ready to get started and can hit the ground running with all of his experience and knowledge,

Dahl retired from Midwestern Engineers, Inc. in 2015 after 39 years of employment, the last 20 as President /CEO. He joined Midwestern in 1976 and became a Registered Professional Engineer in 1980. He was Project Engineer for several civil engineering projects and responsible for planning and design of numerous wastewater, sewerage collection, water treatment, and distribution systems throughout southwest Indiana.  He worked on the sewage treatment plant in Washington and designed the city’s water treatment plant
