The Bicentennial Torch Run came through Daviess County today.

From Pike County, the torch turned off Highway 57 to East Walnut. Hall of Fame Coach Gene Miiller carried the torch, while dribbling a basketball for about 3 blocks, then handed the torch off to the Mayor of Washington, Joe Wellman, on the city train.

Coach Miiller said it was a great experience…

Coach also talked about the idea for the basketball…

The torch was passed off to a horse & buggy to head north on Highway 57 heading towards Plainville. The Bicentennial Torch will travel from Highway 57 to Highway 358 and continue into Odon and end in Martin County today.
