A fish kill at Prairie Creek in Daviess County is being investigated.
On Tuesday the Indiana Department of Environmental Management was notified of the kill in a 12 mile stretch of the south fork of the creek, IDEM and the DNR discovered that the water tested high for ammonia nitrogen which likely resulted in the incident. They say they have located the source of the discharge and are working with the alleged responsible party. A fish kill count is currently underway as part of the investigation.
