Tony Lee Litherland, 70, of Washington, went to his Heavenly Home on Thursday, August 25, 2016.
He was born on June 29, 1946 to Lawrence A. and Cynthia Mae (Weathers) Litherland in Elnora, IN. He attended school at Elnora Township. On May 22, 1971, Tony married the love of his life Betty K. (Brown) Litherland. Tony worked at and owned the Elnora Stop n Shop Grocery Store until he retired in 2008. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but his passion was to fly. He loved his 3 different airplanes that he owned over the years. His favorite thing to do was to take people to see aerial views of their property. He also loved Little House on the Prairie; Tony and Betty traveled to all the places referenced in the books/movies.
Tony is survived by his wife, Betty (Brown) Litherland; Sister Joyce Bazan of Washington; nieces Kimberly Black-Hughes (John) of Indianapolis and Lisa J. Williams of Indianapolis; nephew Nicholas Bazan (Crystal) of Indianapolis; 3 great nephews and 1 great niece. He is preceded by his parents Lawrence A. and Cynthia Mae (Weathers) Litherland.
The funeral service for Tony will take place Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 1pm at Gill Funeral Home 308 E. Walnut Street, Washington, IN 47501 with Minister Christopher Wiles officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Fairview Cemetery in Elnora, IN.
Friends may call on Monday, August 29, 2016 from 4-8pm and Tuesday prior to the service from 11-1pm all at Gill Funeral Home.
