Daviess and Knox Counties seeing Community Crossings dollars

Daviess County is getting a million dollars and the city of Washington $350,000 in Indiana Department of Transportation grants.

INDOT made the announcement Tuesday in Evansville saying Southern Indiana counties, cities and towns are getting a combined total of $49 million.  It’s all part of the state’s Community Crossings matching grant.

       The grant program provides approximately $160 million in funding this year available to all Indiana cities, towns and counties on a 50/50 matching basis.

Projects that are eligible for funding through Community Crossings include road resurfacing, bridge rehabilitation, road reconstruction, resurfacing, and Americans with Disabilities Act compliance in connection with road projects. Material costs for chip sealing and crack filling operations are also eligible for funds.

In Knox County, Bicknell received $88,550, Vincennes $800,150 dollars,  and Knox County $404,600 dollars.
