Indiana Gov. Mike Pence is again defending Donald Trump after Trump refused to endorse House Speaker Paul Ryan or Arizona Sen. John McCain, two top Republicans, for re-election Tuesday.

Pence met with McCain Tuesday. It was a meeting set up before Trump gave an interview in which he said he was not ready yet to endorse McCain, reports ABC News. Trump’s refusal was after McCain, Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) were critical of Trump’s criticism on the Kazir Khan Gold Star family.

“He’s a fighter. He’s a winner. And until very recently it seemed like he was out there doing it all by himself. But, now we are united as a movement and a people and we’re gonna make Donald Trump the next president of the United States of America,” said the vice-presidential nominee.

But, he didn’t just stick with rally hype. For the second time this week, Pence publicly made a statement of solidarity with Trump.

“Let me say I think Barrack Obama knowa something about being woefully unprepared to be president of the United States,” said Pence.

That was after Obama’s Tuesday sit down with the press where he made several statements about why believes Trump is unprepared and unfit.

Obama said he believes, had McCain or Mitt Romney been elected that he would’ve been disappointed, but that the men would still have gotten the job done, which he said he believes Trump will not be able to do.
