The group INVIN is one step closer to bringing more parking to downtown Vincennes.

The Vincennes Historic Review Board approved a request from INVIN Executive Director Ellen Harper to demolish two vacant buildings at 526 and 530 Main Streets.

Harper explains what exactly INVIN plans to do with the area.

The public parking lot’s location is across from the New Moon Theater, which Harper says INVIN is turning into a restaurant and microbrewery. Funding for the project comes from the Vincennes Redevelopment Commission. Harper is working with the city engineer to start the process and hopes to have the parking lot open by the end of this Fall.
