Janet Sue Eaton, 79, of Montgomery, went to her heavenly home at 5:15 a.m. Sunday at The Villages at Oak Ridge.
She was born March 1, 1937, in Plainville, to Niles “Bill” and Zella (Boyd) Dougherty.
She graduated from Plainville High School in 1955 and was a member of Bethany Christian Church. Janet was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed watching sports, especially basketball, and playing golf for many years.
Janet is survived by her husband, the love of her life, for almost 61 years, Darrell Lee Eaton, whom she married June 24, 1955; three daughters, Kimberly Showers of Westfield, Deanna Kay (Neil) Sheffler of Carmel, and Cheryl (Dean) Robinson of Montgomery; two sisters, Dixie Brunson and Donna Parker, both of Vincennes; six grandchildren Joe (Leah) Robinson, Kyle (Jamie) Sheffler, Blake Sheffler, Lynnsey (Mike) Cohn, Lauren (Matt) Gillott, and Russell Showers; eight great-grandchildren, Hunter, Alli Jo, Stella, Ava, Alivia, Sophia, Colette and Daniel.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethany Christian Church, SR 57S. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery, Montgomery.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday, all at Bethany Christian Church.
