Lane restrictions come to I69 late next week….work on 257 will start back up again June 30th.

-The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane closures in Washington for the area surrounding the bridge spanning Interstate 69 on County Road 450 E. Beginning on or around Thursday, May 26, contractors will begin closing driving lanes on I-69 for the removal of an overhead bridge beam. Lane closures are expected to shift in mid-June from the driving lanes to the passing lane. During the project, wide loads over 12-feet will need to find and alternate route. Restrictions will be in place around the clock. The project is expected to be completed by early to mid-July depending upon weather conditions.

-=If you travel State Road 257 between Washington and Otwell frequently, mark your calendar for June 30th.  The Indiana Department of Transportation says they will be closing 257 as they resume the road reconstruction project that was started last fall.  Work on the new phase requires a full closure.  Contractors will be re-building the approaches to the Veale Creek Bridge.  Depending on weather, the closure will last through mid-July.  After the bridge work is done, 257 will remain an active work zone with partial lane closures as reconstruction of the 13 mile stretch from Washington to Otwell continues.  The project will last through this fall.  Be sure and slow down and stay alert near work crews.
