Teacher assaulted at Lincoln High School

Vincennes Police Department is requesting several charges against a 16-year-old male juvenile after attack on Lincoln High School teacher.

A 16 year old could face attempted murder and other charges after a teacher was battered Wednesday evening after hours at Lincoln High School.

Police were dispatched there at 430-pm where a woman teacher had been assaulted.  She was found badly beaten and semi-conscious in a classroom.

A 16 year old suspect had been removed from the area and detained.  Police say the teen was known by the victim.  The teacher was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes and later transferred to an Evansville Hospital.  She remains in intensive care.

The 16 year old was medically cleared and then taken to the Southwest Indiana Regional Youth Village,    The investigation continues.  Vincennes police have requested charges of attempted murder, battery with serious bodily injury, criminal confinement, and strangulation.
