Heidi Cruz makes a stop in Washington

           Heidi Cruz, wife of Republican Texas Senator and 2016 Presidential Candidate Ted Cruz, made a susprise visit to last night’s Daviess County Lincon-Reagan Dinner at East Side Park in Washington.

          Mrs. Cruz is an American investment manager at Goldman Sachs and served in the Bush White House as Economic Director for the Western Hemisphere at the National Security Council.  She’s also been the Director of the Latin America Office at the US Treasury Departments and Special Assistant to the US Trade Representative and was an economic policy advisor in the 2000 George W. Bush presidential campaign.

          She told the audience that if elected, Mr. Cruz plans to get rid of the latest deal with Iran, abolish the IRS and implement a flat tax, do away with Common Core and the US Department of Education.

          The Keynote Speaker at the event was Indiana House Speaker Brian Bosma, a 30 year veteran in the Indiana Legislature.

          In his speech, he touted Indiana as the most pro-life state in the nation and recent laws passed in the General Assembly.  He also talked about recent work in his day job as an attorney.  He is  working with the city and county officials in economic development endeavors for the I69 interchange area at Washington.
