A non-certified staff member is on administrative leave and under investigation

An unnamed employee with the Washington Community School System has been suspended for what the Washington Times Herald reports is an allegation of inappropriate conduct with a student.

The non-certified employee has been placed on administrative leave and cannot enter school grounds.

The newspaper says school officials handed their information over the city police and a detective handed their findings over to the prosecutor’s office.

School Superintendent Dr. Dan Roach said upon learning of the allegation, officials acted quickly in the interest of student safety.  He said the school is following the guidance of the authorities, the police and the prosecutor and there is no indication as to how long the suspension will continue.
