A semi driver from Martin County was involved in a two vehicle crash yesterday in southeast Indiana that resulted in three deaths.

Indiana State Police Sgt. Stephen Wheeles says the Ripley County crash Tuesday killed 31-year-old Margaret A. Guinn, 3-year-old Aaliyah Guinn and the car’s driver, 31-year-old Andre N. Devant, all of Cincinnati. Ohio. Each was pronounced dead at the scene along U.S. 50 near Versailles (vur-SAYLZ’), about 40 miles west of Cincinnati.

Wheeles says the driver of the semitrailer, 37-year-old Alexander K. Benge of Shoals, was released after treatment at a hospital.

Wheeles says Devant pulled into the path of the semitrailer, which then struck the passenger side of the car. Both vehicles rolled over.

The highway was closed for nearly 10 hours for investigation and cleanup.
