The process to open a charter school in Otwell takes another step today
The group Friends of Otwell has applied for a charter through Ball State University to open a K through 5th grade elementary in the Pike County Community. The group’s effort comes after last year’s decision by the Pike County School Board to close the school in part due to finances.
President of the group, Mike Houtsch says today is the day the group goes to Ball State to answer questions concerning the application. He speculates a lot of the discussion will center around location, curriculum and finances…
On Tuesday April 12th, the Friends of Otwell will meet at the Otwell Community Building at 7 to update the public on tomorrow’s meeting and other aspects of the process. Anyone interested in the issue is encouraged to attend.
